Between a cattle baron who will stop at nothing to keep them from completing the journey, the elements, and the wildlife, they'll be lucky if they make it to California at all, let alone on time. </p>Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05130733681254163610noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-551608342749773751.post-2533198339154213302023-06-08T13:51:00.003-07:002023-06-08T13:51:15.705-07:00Pre-Order Escorting a Witch Now!<p>Want a chance to win a PR book box with a signed copy and great swag inside? As a guide taking people west, he gets to do exactly that. But when he agrees to do a friend a favor and escort her newly widowed sister-in-law to California, Rick is in for the challenge of his life.</p><p>Newly widowed, though not exactly in mourning, Catriona O’Brian seizes the opportunity to claim the land in California that her late husband purchased. She has always wanted to have a farm filled with the animals her magic allows her to communicate with, and the stuffy ladies of high society New York won't exactly miss her. Though Cat is reluctant to travel alone with a man across the wilds of the United States, she trusts her sister-in-law’s confidence in him, and her connection to animals to keep her safe. Trusting him is another matter.</p><p>Unable to wait for the railroad to be completed, they set out on a dangerous ride across the country. Between a cattle baron who will stop at nothing to keep them from completing the journey, the elements, and the wildlife, they'll be lucky if they make it to California at all, let alone on time. </p>Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05130733681254163610noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-551608342749773751.post-61834660566513548522023-05-08T14:25:00.004-07:002023-05-11T12:45:15.648-07:00The Shifter Seeker Series So FarThe latest in my Shifter Seeker series it out in the world! Because of that, I've been asked by a few people what is the best order to read it in. Here is that answer, and the reason why you don't actually have to read the "1st" one first. <div><br /></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguMue0L-SaKKGJZdpeJul_q_wQPq0kKpS2RikDNR13aGJGQ9Vj51bynsoegAjV9mbAAMu-136HBKsDE8W73eTymv8KHYuxkUBL5YmXRzzKdHesUrAx2I4K8uWp25rB8fcEagwDrXQ0Z772Vn3Fum-YmfYmKXv2UHSagm_NWFmFJYDO3WpROAY0ivqb/s2475/Holiday%20Hunting%20cover%20small.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2475" data-original-width="1575" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguMue0L-SaKKGJZdpeJul_q_wQPq0kKpS2RikDNR13aGJGQ9Vj51bynsoegAjV9mbAAMu-136HBKsDE8W73eTymv8KHYuxkUBL5YmXRzzKdHesUrAx2I4K8uWp25rB8fcEagwDrXQ0Z772Vn3Fum-YmfYmKXv2UHSagm_NWFmFJYDO3WpROAY0ivqb/s320/Holiday%20Hunting%20cover%20small.jpg" width="204" /></a></div>This series starts with a holiday novella, Holiday Hunting. I wrote this after finishing the Children of Fenrir series (which the Shifter Seeker series is based on) as a bit of a bridge, and as a "holiday episode" sort of story. While it if fun, spicy, and give the reader a look into some Icelandic holiday traditions, it is not necessary to read it to understand the Shifter Seeker books that come after it, or the Children of Fenrir books that come before it. But when you're looking for a holiday read with werewolves and Norse mythology, I hope you'll check it out!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Grab it at:</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BM6ZC4LG" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: medium;">Amazon</span></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/holiday-hunting-heather-mccorkle/1142677433" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: medium;">B&N</span></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">And please, for the love of exposure and sales, leave me a review if you do read it and enjoy it! ;) It is woefully low on reviews and could use the help oh so much. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>Spice level: 4 chili peppers, adults only!</b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzTgJ1NgFkyBB0vzjKnubBJ-dnEsVKR1KRU2jLx9CajlI7fR5zUqRX245jingUHi9pEjE7-TXmmm10zJPaixLt0-frBwkxYH48NsY3s-2rH611KNwV74tFDCFFDwYlFAEwAhRf_tPORlzFkVud2EGy0r217rx0VfQ2ynvDzIsxj_xKKiaM1SRUloyv/s2580/Raven%20Rousting%20Front%20Cover%20small.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2580" data-original-width="1680" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzTgJ1NgFkyBB0vzjKnubBJ-dnEsVKR1KRU2jLx9CajlI7fR5zUqRX245jingUHi9pEjE7-TXmmm10zJPaixLt0-frBwkxYH48NsY3s-2rH611KNwV74tFDCFFDwYlFAEwAhRf_tPORlzFkVud2EGy0r217rx0VfQ2ynvDzIsxj_xKKiaM1SRUloyv/s320/Raven%20Rousting%20Front%20Cover%20small.jpg" width="208" /></a></div>The real starting point is Raven Rousting, a long novella. This is where new stuff that you'll need to know for the next books really starts happening. You'll also meet a lot of other characters who take more of the stage in the next book. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>Spice level: 1 chili pepper. </b>Why? You ask, when I normally write scorching, and this series is all scorching, along with the series, before it. Releases March 2nd! Here is more about it:</p><p>When Union soldier Sean MacBranain awakens to a blond-haired, blue-eyed fae, he figures he must have died on the battlefield. But, as her magic fades along with his delirium, he realizes she is a field nurse serving his beloved 69th infantry.</p><p>Upon learning that the wounded corporal saved her hound—the last thing Ashlinn has left of her family—she becomes determined to save his life, despite the danger it presents of exposing her magic. His honorable ways and gentle manner capture a part of her that nothing has been able to since the disappearance of her last brother.</p><p>Reluctant to form attachments in the midst of a war where every battle comes with unimaginable casualties, they determine to remain only friends despite the affection growing within each of them. But as the war pushes and pulls them apart, they find their determination waning despite the heartache they know it may cause. Would he love her if he found out the truth? A letter found in the hound’s collar from not Sean, but Ashlinn’s missing brother, forces them to find out, and brings a danger not even all the guns of the south could muster.</p><div><br /></div>Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05130733681254163610noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-551608342749773751.post-1101840230853306772023-01-09T11:21:00.002-08:002023-01-09T11:21:45.706-08:00Proving the Traditional Publishing Industry Wrong<p>I hope you'll help me in proving the traditional publishing industry wrong. Coming, this March, the book that Honor Before Heart, my historical romance was always meant to be, Honoring a Witch's Heart, now a historical fantasy about fae descendants living in America during the Civil War. And here is the cover reveal:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHk8C_G20siCgsxNf98C64dFdcYMhHI-GDWUQsgC2YZ9nLI6ivqBC49apLL0IK5uQvtCJ6RTQmaYdii8qyyQmaG7-M3jJElW0SF_jg4wrh0ZypWOZEdzmQyBdjnF8kFOZcw-JCeF2ipJYE2l1YFD8crMOlUyGo2dVVnOAv6kb7C3JQ7mcqptGjQoUz/s3204/Old%20&%20New.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2625" data-original-width="3204" height="525" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHk8C_G20siCgsxNf98C64dFdcYMhHI-GDWUQsgC2YZ9nLI6ivqBC49apLL0IK5uQvtCJ6RTQmaYdii8qyyQmaG7-M3jJElW0SF_jg4wrh0ZypWOZEdzmQyBdjnF8kFOZcw-JCeF2ipJYE2l1YFD8crMOlUyGo2dVVnOAv6kb7C3JQ7mcqptGjQoUz/w640-h525/Old%20&%20New.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><p></p><p>When I had the original idea for this novel, I talked to my agent about it. They said it sounded like it would be a tough sell due to the dual genres of fantasy and historical. It would be too hard to sell to a publisher, they said. They convinced me to write it is as just a historical romance instead, removing all fantasy elements from it. Though it broke my heart, I did it. And they were able to sign it to a publisher. Unfortunately, the series sold poorly. I hold no ill will toward my agent, they advised me in the way they thought was best, and they had good intentions. </p><p>After several years, I finally got my right back and I have rewritten it to the way I always intended it to be, historical fantasy. I'm hoping you'll help me prove the industry wrong by signing up for my <a href="https://heathermccorkle.wixsite.com/heathermccorkle/review-team" target="_blank">review team</a>, or grabbing a copy when it comes out for yourself or a friend. </p><p>Here is a bit about it:</p><p>The Fighting Irish of the 69th brigade hold honor and duty dear to their hearts, Corporal Sean MacBranain perhaps even more than most. But when a nurse impossibly, miraculously, perhaps even magically, saves his life and awakens his heart, even he may not be able to put honor before love.</p><p>When Union soldier Sean MacBranain awakens to a blond-haired, blue-eyed fae, he figures he must have died on the battlefield. Until she came across Jin, a tiger shifter on the run from a gang of grizzly shifters. Taking him in will mean bringing a lot of heat onto her friends, but she can't turn away a supernatural in need of help. <p></p><p>Mixing canines and felines proves challenging when he meets her group of misfits--werewolves and coyote shifters--not to mention her boyfriend. And then there's the problem of her reaper best friend...</p><p>But all those issues fall to the side as the Grizzly Gang descends on her found family in search of not just a rare tiger shifter, but this one in particular. Because it turns out, Jin has something they desperately want--something that might open a gate to the nine worlds.</p>Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05130733681254163610noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-551608342749773751.post-79300837858437090762022-11-24T11:07:00.003-08:002022-11-24T11:16:48.425-08:00Missing Indigenous Women<p></p><p class="MsoNormal"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="text-align: left;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg-Fky2dLRIrxPsYlZdHO1s5oGE7iiGqg7reqCzHQbwvl5Z8IgG_UgoY-jTHh6DfGYbNZAyn9iG1xEfmnUn-emBau1mCDxuK3fpR2c5t741bP0pEuvAbkGc3KU6q2P9GA-wLgp7D1IRZevTFV--JDqRU-b3RmMZOrO3_u7Cw31n3oCfwgxonaIrJQa/s4720/Missing.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2400" data-original-width="4720" height="326" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg-Fky2dLRIrxPsYlZdHO1s5oGE7iiGqg7reqCzHQbwvl5Z8IgG_UgoY-jTHh6DfGYbNZAyn9iG1xEfmnUn-emBau1mCDxuK3fpR2c5t741bP0pEuvAbkGc3KU6q2P9GA-wLgp7D1IRZevTFV--JDqRU-b3RmMZOrO3_u7Cw31n3oCfwgxonaIrJQa/w640-h326/Missing.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />One of the main plot threads in Coyote Calling deals with

If you did, and enjoyed it, you are in for a treat. If you didn't read it and love holiday themed stories featuring your favorite characters, then you are in for a treat too! After the publisher gave our rights to our stories back, I rewrote the short, doubling it's length and turning it into a novella! That novella, now titled Holiday Hunting, will be releasing at the end of this November! Here is a bit about it:</div><div><br /></div><div>Sleighbells are ringing and the snow is falling in Hemlock Hollow, Montana, but Sonya Michaelson is off saving newly bitten werewolves from losing their minds during their first change. </div><div><br /></div><div>That is until she has to prepare the house for the visit of the werewolf parents of her hot professor boyfriend. Between that and holiday shopping with her best friend, the reaper of shifterkind, she will have her hands full. </div><div><br /></div><div>Can she pull off the perfect, Jólabókaflóðið, the Icelandic tradition of gifting books, for her boyfriend and his Icelandic parents, or will all her careful plans unravel? </div><div><br /></div><div>It will be available in both ebook and print editions. </div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05130733681254163610noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-551608342749773751.post-37983870016994044032022-09-26T08:57:00.000-07:002022-09-26T08:57:32.973-07:00Recommended Reading Order<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh714mVhYhOcDwcxr6tig8gtnVqSr-bCDiMsf0l9Xu2bFzjYGuByzkbO2s4GubkZlmD4x7R4SiWmHIraJoaMaBOD7AHTx7jg3u-YpOhqtKLl3PgrzCGlsIvVD-vTqqokW9GXP-W-qZmflyykXR5aIvn1-F3WeDSXqHN5qmZJ2SXkkR0vNx0of2d_jK5/s2400/Recommended%20Reading%20Order.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="813" data-original-width="2400" height="216" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh714mVhYhOcDwcxr6tig8gtnVqSr-bCDiMsf0l9Xu2bFzjYGuByzkbO2s4GubkZlmD4x7R4SiWmHIraJoaMaBOD7AHTx7jg3u-YpOhqtKLl3PgrzCGlsIvVD-vTqqokW9GXP-W-qZmflyykXR5aIvn1-F3WeDSXqHN5qmZJ2SXkkR0vNx0of2d_jK5/w640-h216/Recommended%20Reading%20Order.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: left;">The recommended reading order for my books is as follows (and I really do recommend reading them in order because of timelines and world building elements):</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><div style="text-align: center;"><b>The Children of Fenrir Series:</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LSR8HSD/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i1" target="_blank">Bitten & Beholden</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08K3V21YW/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i2" target="_blank">Clawed & Cornered</a> (though it is a prequel novella to B&B, it will be more impactful once you know the characters ;) </div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08YQPS343/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i5" target="_blank">Tempered & Turned</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09GJ8FYPK/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i4" target="_blank">Bared & Betrayed</a></div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Holiday Hunting (novella Coming this November!)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>The Shifter Seeker Series:</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B2PRZ7S2/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i3" target="_blank">Raven Rousting</a> (novella)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B8BDZTJX/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0" target="_blank">Coyote Calling</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I also have a YA urban fantasy series!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Channeler Series:</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006BL0WR8/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i12" target="_blank">The Secret of Spruce Knoll</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007AWD9NQ/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i11" target="_blank">Channeler's Choice</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009Q6ILGE/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i10" target="_blank">Rise of a Rector</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0081A2GZS/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i8" target="_blank">To Ride a Puca</a></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">If you've read any of my books, I would be eternally greatful for a review on Amazon or other retail sites. Anything under fifty reviews means I can't advertise with certain advertisers who can really help sales. :( </div>Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05130733681254163610noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-551608342749773751.post-10120311739504730522022-09-05T15:09:00.002-07:002022-09-05T15:14:04.890-07:00Gatekeeping Advertisers in Publishing?Reviews are important, vital to authors. No doubt you've heard this many times if you follow authors on social media of any kind. But just how true is that? Sadly, it's very true. <div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheQBuPGhJeb3A9CgXMHogbXxm7v5f4nqKNyYjhPk-UOsvMVK61B6irL6Dso3fzSh-8M3o-4Y9osG1aVoOFhV3hcKr8duWU0pmQnoeNWnLna4toAjVtfUafEdhJjvgqYm27KEo6T_lI9-Ykt72pBXhXpQLH0Zh5qHqZxKLRvcMwmoNF7MXTv3scgxux/s1024/overwhelmed.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="760" data-original-width="1024" height="476" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheQBuPGhJeb3A9CgXMHogbXxm7v5f4nqKNyYjhPk-UOsvMVK61B6irL6Dso3fzSh-8M3o-4Y9osG1aVoOFhV3hcKr8duWU0pmQnoeNWnLna4toAjVtfUafEdhJjvgqYm27KEo6T_lI9-Ykt72pBXhXpQLH0Zh5qHqZxKLRvcMwmoNF7MXTv3scgxux/w640-h476/overwhelmed.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /></div><div>As an indie author, I get to see just how true. Advertising is a vital part of selling books. Many places an author can advertise that are medium to large sized fish in the sea, require a minimum amount of reviews on Amazon before they will even allow a publisher or indie author to submit to them for advertising. Yep, you read that right, there are gatekeepers even in the advertising field of publishing. </div><div><br /></div><div>Even if we put aside hundreds, or thousands of dollars for advertising, we cannot get many of the medium to large advertisers to work with us if our books don't have enough reviews. 50 reviews is often the starting point an author must have on their book before these advertisers will even accept their submissions. There are currently three proven advertisers I'd love to advertise my books with, but I can't. I don't have enough reviews. </div><div><br /></div><div><a href="https://www.amazon.com/Heather-McCorkle/e/B005GFK5AY/ref=dp_byline_cont_pop_ebooks_1" target="_blank">Out of my 6 books published within the last five years, only one of them has enough reviews to qualify, the second closest is only halfway there, and three of them have under five reviews</a>. And, unfortunately, this is after both my publisher and I have done everything we can imagine to try and get people to post reviews on Amazon. We've put the books up on review sites like NetGalley, BookSirens (which give readers FREE ebook copies), and more. I've tried to build a newsletter, and a review team where I have offered free copies in exchange for an honest review on Amazon, but nothing has worked. I am at a soul-crushing loss as to what to do. If you are an author who has found something that works for you, I am open and eager to hear your ideas. </div><br /><div><br /></div>Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05130733681254163610noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-551608342749773751.post-42279540836893508372022-08-08T13:21:00.000-07:002022-08-08T13:21:03.849-07:00Review Team Members Needed!<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYG9fG8XVFc4ZqZFqxZJTtKr_7BIv5E1X_PBkHVwluvLU23qV8hwn43Q_UOtHO3Al_T8GtnEDuXSH5AotjUqd_yE7mXV182Nj1VsINNUK04ZexyHeheWyqPkd0G9jGjIfKPcSOiYKAKoTopRac8vhqb8wCxJ_J0qWxfAoh2iwocZzu6aNn5e-qbf3h/s3270/Women%20Fenrir%20Characters.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1177" data-original-width="3270" height="230" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYG9fG8XVFc4ZqZFqxZJTtKr_7BIv5E1X_PBkHVwluvLU23qV8hwn43Q_UOtHO3Al_T8GtnEDuXSH5AotjUqd_yE7mXV182Nj1VsINNUK04ZexyHeheWyqPkd0G9jGjIfKPcSOiYKAKoTopRac8vhqb8wCxJ_J0qWxfAoh2iwocZzu6aNn5e-qbf3h/w640-h230/Women%20Fenrir%20Characters.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />How does a no time limit, no must-love, & no minimum follower requirements review team sound? <p></p><p>If you like urban fantasy with Norse elements, strong female main characters, and shifters, I'd love for you to join my review team. </p><p>So what do I ask of my review team members?</p><p>That you review on Amazon (because it helps my sales tremendously!)</p><p>That you do your best to review the book before the next one comes out. For this reason alone, reviews are vital. They help people decide whether or not to buy your book. And, if you're like me, and a book doesn't have very many, or any, reviews, you might hesitate, wait to ask a friend, move on to another book, and potentially forget completely about the book your were originally contemplating. <div><br /></div><div>Statistics show an item with reviews is 65% more likely to be purchased. Enough reviews also improve the search rankings of books, bumping them up to the top of related searches. And even more reviews means Amazon will put the book in the "also purchased by" recommendations. So when you see authors asking for reviews, this is why. It greatly impacts their livelihood.</div><div><br /></div><div>That said, if you've read any of <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Heather-McCorkle/e/B005GFK5AY/ref=dp_byline_cont_pop_ebooks_1" target="_blank">my books </a>and haven't had a chance to <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Heather-McCorkle/e/B005GFK5AY/ref=dp_byline_cont_pop_ebooks_1" target="_blank">review them</a> yet, I would be eternally grateful for a review left on sites like Amazon. From there it escalates into a full blown takeover and restructuring of the government to embrace a utalitarian type of patriarchy where women are seen and not heard, used and not cherished, and to be LGBTQ+ is to invite mutilation at best and death at worst. </div><div><br /></div><div>Sound far-fetched? Sadly, it is all based on real events and <a href="https://www.sbs.com.au/topics/voices/culture/article/2018/04/17/five-countries-mirror-fictional-gilead" target="_blank">several countries </a>are still frightfully close to this type of patriarchial rule. Some practice female genital mutilation for the sake of oppression, don't allow women to drive, to vote, play sports, or publish books. These atrocities are currently happening to women, they are not science fiction, or dystopian novel concepts, they are real.</div><div><br /></div><div>Is it possible the United States is headed down that road? I don't know. What I do know, is that one step down a slippery slope often leads to a horrible fall, and this is not a pit we want to fall into. <br /></div>Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05130733681254163610noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-551608342749773751.post-32455938566655508262022-06-04T10:35:00.003-07:002022-06-04T10:35:44.310-07:00Raven Rousting Has Released!<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: georgia, serif;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizvTvb2URpRyaE8QPgmkzsMBgLHvQi2fPp3xtmMg8vUdubgnHX8QubxPQkjVlPEBiqTQjvTQW5nyNuvhbrCRdVfsYZDWb8qU9gBeHm0nC0oiIzOSH_FFSVcvRHc8bnnwk9ygVYs-5rzaHMh4Q_VHFC838wdvIWm1wGUfI3dGwW6XehXLkv0mxJth1n/s2988/Newsletter%20header.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1560" data-original-width="2988" height="334" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizvTvb2URpRyaE8QPgmkzsMBgLHvQi2fPp3xtmMg8vUdubgnHX8QubxPQkjVlPEBiqTQjvTQW5nyNuvhbrCRdVfsYZDWb8qU9gBeHm0nC0oiIzOSH_FFSVcvRHc8bnnwk9ygVYs-5rzaHMh4Q_VHFC838wdvIWm1wGUfI3dGwW6XehXLkv0mxJth1n/w640-h334/Newsletter%20header.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />Love Norse mythology, shifters, magic, and mayhem? It's apparently her Norse goddess bestowed mission to help the troubled werewolves in danger of losing their battle with madness and becoming mindless killers before their first shift. But how she's supposed to find them, she has no clue. It's not exactly something people blast on social media.<br /><br />So, fed up and out of options, she turns to a Norse witch. But after a trip to the astral plane and a weird ritual with the last seeker who died over three hundred years ago, still no great revelations come.<br /><br />But she has bigger issues to worry about, namely a missing werewolf who might have gotten himself into a bit of trouble in the way of a werewolf fighting ring—one which she may have to join to get him out.<span style="font-family: georgia, serif;"> </span></p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia, serif;">Grab it on <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B2PRZ7S2/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i14" target="_blank">Amazon</a> (Available in Ebook or Print here), <a href="https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/raven-rousting-heather-mccorkle/1141581334" target="_blank">B&N</a>, <a href="https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/raven-rousting" target="_blank">Kobo</a></span></p>Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05130733681254163610noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-551608342749773751.post-20897651694914107142022-04-25T09:48:00.007-07:002022-04-25T09:48:52.069-07:00Bared & Betrayed Needs You!<p style="text-align: left;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgy80uf8qIuGX7CnhmVroa6xhsO9UkV3zbjQuwaEzMdsOqFsmWLhf5GRC4fiSZ-D-2ARzgYVIlfQ09y53huabmqzFgi5OVuVALQSa0PmoHkEOTcoGC0JV0QIZjzh3KoySFqpeoi7Ce6RhoDFErh_Wdopywz01qy2ECHXGRBk0ob32_hMVlciUVrsSx0/s1800/InDTale%20Finalist%20taller.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1800" data-original-width="1408" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgy80uf8qIuGX7CnhmVroa6xhsO9UkV3zbjQuwaEzMdsOqFsmWLhf5GRC4fiSZ-D-2ARzgYVIlfQ09y53huabmqzFgi5OVuVALQSa0PmoHkEOTcoGC0JV0QIZjzh3KoySFqpeoi7Ce6RhoDFErh_Wdopywz01qy2ECHXGRBk0ob32_hMVlciUVrsSx0/w313-h400/InDTale%20Finalist%20taller.jpg" width="313" /></a></div>I am super honored to announce that my novel Bared & Betrayed is a finalist for the InD'Tale Magazing Rone awards in the Paranormal Long catagory.
