Great Read: Clockwise

Image
For today's, my good friend, and fabulous author, Elle Strauss, has released a new cover for her time-travel young adult novel, Clockwise. And I just had to share it with you. If you haven't read this book yet, trust me, you've got to! Check it out: A teenage time traveler accidentally takes her secret crush back in time. Awkward. Casey Donovan has issues: hair, height and uncontrollable trips to the 19th century! And now this --she’s accidentally taken Nate Mackenzie, the cutest boy in the school, back in time. Awkward. Protocol pressures her to tell their 1860 hosts that he is her brother and when Casey finds she has a handsome, wealthy (and unwanted) suitor, something changes in Nate. Are those romantic sparks or is it just “brotherly” protectiveness? When they return to the present, things go back to the way they were before: Casey parked on the bottom of the rung of the social ladder and Nate perched high on the very the top. Except this time her heart is br...

Special Project Announcement

Image
It seemed appropriate to reveal my special project to you on Teaser Tuesday. I needed to wait for the excitement of the Channeler's Choice tour to dim, yet here we are swept up into the mega contest of awesome (i.e. the Nook giveaway) so it seems my plans have gone awry. Nevertheless, my publisher says I may now announce the special project and I decided not to wait. My young adult historical fantasy about the last of the druids in ancient Ireland, To Ride A PĂșca , is releasing this May from Compass Press! It is a tie-in novel to the channeler series, but it isn't officially a part of it. I'm so excited because this is a novel that was written from the depths of my soul. Here is a bit about it: They say to ride a p Ăș ca changes your life forever. That doesn’t sound so bad to Neala. Her kind are hunted down, forced to live in obscurity, or be slaughtered.  But when an old enemy threatens her country like never before, the druids will have to decide; rise up and fig...

Angela Carlie's Book Release Celebration

Image
I know it's the off Friday for Creature Features but I have a creature feature from a different author to share with you! The second book in the Lords of Shifters series, Spider Wars, is now available! I recently discovered this series by author Angela Carlie and was pleasantly surprised by it (despite the fact that I'm totally creeped out by the cover of book 2... or perhaps because of it ;). Here is a bit about it: What happens when a species is tired of being stomped on? Jess' life has never been ordinary. After all, life on the road with an immortal family of gypsies is hardly predictable. Living in the small town of White Salmon, Washington has brought some normality to her life. But when her cheating, sometimes boyfriend, Nicu, gets involved with a group of arachneshifters, life gets a little sticky. Will she be able to save him from the web he's spun? More importantly, how much is she willing to risk to get him back? This novel is meant for mature reader...

Great Reads~Eisley Jacobs: Runaway Choices

Image
Today as I'm neck-deep in my special project, I invited my good friend~and author~ Eisley Jacobs over for a guest post. Eisley: First of all, I want to say thank you to Heather for allowing me this opportunity to stop by the blog. Not only is Heather a fabulous writer, but she is also an amazing person who has inspired many. I’m so privileged to know her and call her my friend. So why am I here? Well, mostly to talk about my new novel RUNAWAY CHOICES . Some of you may know I’m the author of a middle grade children’s series called DRAGONS FOREVER (Born to be a Dragon and Blink of a Dragon), but some people are shocked to find out I write for adults as well. Sometimes, topics just hit me, and I run with them, which is really how RUNAWAY CHOICES was born. RUNAWAY CHOICES is considered Christian Speculative Fiction and… what? What was that? You aren’t sure what that term means? Well, welcome to the club. Speculative fiction is an umbrella term encompassing the more fantast...

Happy Official Book Birthday to Lacrimosa

Image
From Christine : I am so excited to be here with Heather today, celebrating the release of LACRIMOSA. Heather is featuring a special interview with Aydan. Take it away Heather: Heather: Welcome, Aydan. To start, why don't you tell us a little about yourself: Aydan: As Christine mentioned earlier this week, I am a member of Azza's army  - an UnHoly. I'm the best at what I do, the best at procuring souls for my master, Azza, and the best at maintaining order  among  the dark creatures. Heather :  So you're evil, then. That's all. Pure Evil?   Aydan: [swallows hard]  Yes. Well, no. Shoot, that is a harder question for me than it seems. [swallows again while opening and closing his fists several times] I am evil. And I am bound to Azza and all that he stands for. But it is not the sum-total of me. At least not yet. Heather: So there is more to you? Tell me about that. [Aydan opens his mouth to speak, only to slam it shut. He closes his eyes and r...
