I'm excited to share the trailer for Christine Fonseca's up coming release, Dominus . If you haven't read the other novels and novellas in Christine's Requiem series , you are really missing out. You know that feeling, when you realize you've committed to maybe a dozen too many things? Yep that feeling it totally driving me into the ground about now. I got myself into it though so I can't complain too much. The only thing to do at this point is bend to the grindstone and get it done. Which is why my posts have been sporadic, you haven't seen me around the usual places as often, and when you have I sort of twitch like I've had ten too many quadruple espressos. To stay on top of our game, and to keep up with the competition, we must always strive to improve our writing skills. Easier said than done in a struggling economy when every penny counts and gas prices are putting the oil-consuming vehicle on the fast track to extinction. Traveling to a workshop completely blows the budget for many of us. So what are we to do?  #WriteTip: Attend an online workshop instead of driving or flying to one. For writers of children's and YA books there is Write On Con which is completely free (no joke), and it's amazing. I know several of the ladies who host it and they are fantastic. There's also the San Francisco Writer's University (online). I haven't taken classes through them but I hear they're great. This week I had the distinct pleasure of reading a friend's manuscript so that I could give her feedback before she started querying widely. I've read a lot of really good books this year but I've got to tell you, her manuscript is the best one I've read so far. I was so blown away by it that I can hardly wait for it to get picked up by an agent and publisher so all of you can read it too! I feel so honored that I got to be one of the first people to read it. Though this is her first step into the realm of fiction, my friend is an accomplished non-fiction author of self-help books for parents and children.
