Tours and Cover Reveals

Image
Before I get to the tour stops for the day, the day is not all about me. A great friend of mine is revealing the cover for her latest novel and I get to be part of that reveal! She is an amazing author, one of my absolute favorites, the kind where I will buy ever book she ever writes. Yep seriously, that good. Karen Amanda Hooper , author of Tangled Tides and Grasping at Eternity , is sharing her newest cover today. The sequel to Grasping at Eternity , book 2 of The Kindrily series, is titled Taking Back Forever . Karen and her cover designer, Alexandra Shostak  (This woman inspires me. I want to be like her when I grow up as a cover designer ;), have worked side by side to create the Taking Back Forever cover. After lots of hard work (and a lot of love) here it is… Want to know more? Here’s a summary of Taking Back Forever. Forever is worth the fight. Maryah erased all memory of her past lives, but she couldn’t erase her soul mate Nathan, or his undying love

Monday's Muse~Inspiration and News

Image
My muse: Fall is always an incredibly inspiring time for me, the colors, the smells, the tastes. It is my favorite time of year and doesn't last long enough. For those who don't know yet, I've caved and joined Pinterest (see my nifty sidebar picture) and I'm finding a lot of inspiration there. The fun part is, I can post pictures that inspire my writing. I'm loving it. But one does have to be careful about the rights of images that they pin. There are sites that approve Pinterest, such as Barnes and Noble, these are the safest to pin from. I plan on only using sites that approve it and my own pictures. My news: It's officially release day for the final novel in my channeler series, Rise of a Rector ! It is currently available in eBook and expected to be available in hardback in about a week. I'm deliriously happy and exhausted but in a good way. Today is the first leg of my tour and I'm over at Candace's Book Blog , or rather, Aiden is, to talk

Wednesday Writing Goals~Start Anew

My goal last week was to finish the final rounds of editing on the project I was working on, and I did! *throws confetti and dances in it* Finally I feel as though I've broken free of the undertow and am starting to rise above water. Now I can relax and get ready for my release celebration and tour for Rise of a Rector coming up next week. I've been MIA a bit on the blog scene lately because I've had a lot to do domestically as well, what with moving to a new house and working on selling the one we're currently in. Plus, the holidays are coming, fast. Hang on to your pocket books peeps, it's just around the corner. But before that craziness starts I'm embracing my favorite holiday of all, Halloween! My tour for Rise won't be like most tours, of course there will be stops at other blogs and interviews, but here on my blog I'll be taking part in some Halloween fun. Check back next week for more on that. As for reading goals, I've been going slow be

Monday's Muse: Interview And News

Only one more week before the release of Rise of a Rector, the final novel in the channeler series! To celebrate, today I'm being interviewed over at Whispers at Moonlight , a fabulous blog by one of my lovely Romanian fans Antonia Calina. I hope you'll drop by and say hi, you'll love her blog. Just remember to click on the translate button at the top of the page. In other news, an online friend of mine, Michelle Leighton (M. Leighton) has a huge announcement to share that will lift the spirits of self-published authors everywhere. She has signed a three book deal with Berkley (Penguin) for her The Wild Ones Series ! If you've read this series, or any of Michelle's other books, you know why. She is a fantastic writer.  Both of these great ladies were my inspiration this week. And I'm getting ready for the Surrey International Writers Conference Book Fair on Saturday October 20th (starts at 5:30pm) where I'll be doing a book signing! That's been

New Release October Feature

Image
Since reading is a huge part of my life~as it should be a huge part of every writer's life~I've decided to try and feature at least one fabulous new release that I'm dying to check out, and to share with you each month. This month my feature is Dead Heat by Lisa Nowak.  A man who longs for a son and a boy who can't escape his father's violence. Even death can't break their bond. Alex is a machine whisperer. He can tell what's wrong with a broken-down car with a touch. But his gift can't save him from the brutality of his meth-addict father. For two years, Alex experienced kindness through Cole, his mentor. Now Cole's dead, and the violence in Alex's life is escalating. When Cole reappears as a ghost, Alex clings to the tenuous link. Then he learns Cole might've sacrificed his chance to cross over. Jade, the first girl to look beyond Alex's past, assures him Cole can reach the Other Side-if Alex escapes from his dad. But a previou

Mark Your Calendar & Meet Me

If you've never been to the Surrey International Writer's Conference, you're missing out. Not only is it in one of the most beautiful places in the world (Surrey, BC), it is a fantastic conference renowned the world over for its excellent cariculum. I am a bit biased because I love Canada, but truly, it is an excellent conference. This year, I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be signing at the Surrey Book Fair on Saturday October 20th starting at 5:30pm  during the conference. I'm crazy excited, and not just because I have a wonderful excuse to go to Canada. I'll be signing alongside two of my good friends, Cheri Lasota and Stacey Wallace Benefiel . To make it even more fun, we're carpooling up there! We're going to have such a blast, I can hardly wait. If you live anywhere near Surrey, or even if you don't and you're just dying to meet us, I hope you'll mark your calendar and come see us at the Surrey Book Fair this month so we'r
