These lovely covers are from books by my friends that are releasing next month. As their release dates loom just around the corner they have been inspiring me more and more. Jessica Subject's  romantic sci-fi tale, Celestial Seduction releases July 1st, Denise Grover Swank's paranormal mystery, Twenty-Eight And A Half Wishes releases July 15th, and Eisley Jacobs's middle grade fantasy, Born To Be A Dragon, Releases July 20th. These ladies have inspired me not only because they are my friends and are fantastic, supportive people, but because they are outstanding writers as well. Their grasp of the writing craft is something I aspire to. During the first three weeks of July on my critique group's blog, the Critique Sisters Corner , we'll be interviewing one of these fabulous ladies each week to chat about their novels. This picture is one that has inspired The Secret Of Spruce Knoll from the start. The edits of are complete! Whoo hoo! Well, complete is a subjective word. My final, personal round are complete and now it is off to… oh wait, I can't tell you that yet. ;) Soon my peeps, soon. This round of editing was particularly eye-opening for me. It feels so polished and wonderful but I must admit, I was surprised at some of the things I found. I don't even want to tell you how many times I had to delete the words 'just' and 'actually'. I might just forbid myself from ever writing those two words again. Oops. I'm reading Popular by Alissa Grosso and am really enjoying it. My luck has been amazing this month. I'm so happy to see that you're all still with me after the Blogger gremlin invasion last week! I had no idea how much I loved the blogging community until I couldn't interact with it. There may or may not have been heavy objects thrown. I will never tell. Last week I took a break from my new work in progress to go back and do some revisions on The Secret Of Spruce Knoll. This picture is one of the one's that inspired me for my main character. There may be something exciting in the works with this novel but I can't say just what yet. This latest revisions fleshed out my characters and gave them wonderful depth. I'm really excited with the end result and will soon be sending it off to my Critique Sisters. I've been crazy busy this week working on completely the rough draft of my manuscript so I didn't have much of a chance to get on Twitter, or any of my other social networks. I missed you guys! I'm really excited about getting my hands on both of these books and not just because they involve werewolves and vampires, though that definitely doesn't hurt! These authors are both exceptionally good. Blood Promise  by Richelle Mead  is book four in the Vampire Academy series. Don't let the title fool you though, it is anything but clique and it's the best vampire series I've read in a long time. Not to mention the main character Rose is unforgettable and wonderfully flawed, the kind of character you root for and cry for. Many of you may remember my feature of  Leah Cypess as April's featured debut author. Well I've finally got my hands on her book Mistwood  and I'm so excited! I'm not going to lie, I've peeked at it and her writing has threatened to suck me in despite the fact that I'm reading another book right now. I can tell I'm going to love it.
