Monday's Muse~IS Foundation

It may seem like an odd picture to feed my muse, but there's a fantastic story behind why. You may remember the Spruce Knoll for Endangered Species mission. Well that mission has changed and become much bigger. Now all three novels in the channeler series (The Secret of Spruce Knoll, Channeler’s Choice, Rise of the Rector) will go toward a new, fantastic charity.

Unlike the last charity who would not allow me to mention them, this new charity gave me approval to announce that I’m donating to them! Though it’s a new charity some of you may have heard of it (say maybe the Vampire Diaries fans among you). It is the IS Foundation which stands for Ian Somerhalder Foundation (yep, the very one from Vampire Diaries)! I’m incredibly excited to be giving to this amazing charity because they do so much for not only animals, but the youth and the environment.

Since you, my friends and fans, will in essence be helping me help this charity by purchasing my books I will start giving you quarterly updates here on the blog that report how much we’ve raised together. The beauty of the Channeler’s Cause is that it is open-ended, meaning there is no deadline or cutoff. Compass Press plans to donate a portion of the profits indefinitely, reassessing the success rate of the cause each year, and likely continuing for years to come.

I’d love to get things off to a roaring start for the cause and I have a plan. You are the keystone to that plan though. I’m going to be giving away some great swag, a signed hardback of To Ride A Puca (my historical fantasy about the last of the druids in ancient Ireland), and up to $10 in gifted eBooks from Amazon, Barnes & Noble or The Book Depository (why yes that does mean it’s open to Australia and the UK ;). To enter, see the form below.

  12. Signed Paperback of To Ride A Puca!

E-books are convenient but there's nothing like the smell of a book [new or old] and the feel of it when I sit down to read it along with a hot cup of Coffee :)

I LOVE IAN. I actually sat through the gore of 'The Tournament' Movie -- just for him!!
