Latest Manuscript: Finished!
It never grows old, that feeling of overwhelming relief and accomplishment that comes with finishing a manuscript. This week I wrote the last words on novel number ten and the rush is still just as powerful. I will be celebrating this weekend because regardless of what happens with it, I have grown so much as a writer just with the writing of it. Woo hoo!
How about you writers out there? Do you feel the rush each time? And at what point in the process from creation, to writing, to editing, to polishing, does it hit you?
Always wonderful to stop by and see what's up with you, Heather. Good for you! I've taken the whole summer off. Have done gardening projects, plus trying to write my first murder mystery. Not easy when I couldn't decide who actually murdered the vic.
ReplyDeleteMy rush comes mainly from ideas that spring out of nowhere like lightning. The sense of accomplishment, rather than a real rush of getting it all done. But that's something too. Woohoo! Wish you well as always, dear!
Gardening and a murder mystery, that sounds like so much fun, Lorelei! Thanks for stopping by, it's great to hear what you're up to as well. :)
DeleteCongrats! Yes, I always love finishing a first draft. I should be doing that on the third Zyan book in a couple weeks. Probably the biggest rush I get though is when my muse does something unexpected. That raw creative state of a first draft is the magic in writing for me.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being so near the end, Alexia! That rush of being 'finished' after a few rounds of editing, of seeing the diamond come out of the cole, that's the rush I love!
