Changing Face of Blogger

In my Blogger feed that shows all the lovely blogs I follow, I've been noticing an interesting trend lately. More and more writers and bloggers are blogging less and less. And they're visiting other blogs less and less as well. It's sad because I miss my old friends. But, I hope it means something good, that they're deeply inspired and are too busy writing. On the flip side, I've noticed more and more book bloggers (reviewers) blogging. I love this trend because I get to read about all the great books out there and it gives me food for my muse. And also because I love book bloggers. They are the life's blood of the industry in many ways. What I don't see is a lot of comments on many of their sites. Authors, writers, I implore you, support your book bloggers, comment on their posts. They give so much back to those of us with books out. And even if you don't have one out, if you're a writer, chances are that you will someday and then you'll see t...

Holiday Must Have Gift Idea #2

Image
With the holidays right around the corner I'll be featuring must have gifts to help those of you who may need ideas. Neverlove by Angela Brown , and it blew me away. This novel just released and already it's receiving outstanding reviews, with good reason. Here is a bit about it: For Abigail Bishop, life has reached its final low, and seventeen doesn't seem such a bad age to die. For Basil Hines, perfection is the key to earning his parents' love, especially his mother. He never suspected sharing this thought with a friend would bring hellish results. Abigail's rash decision, and failure to take her own life, leads her to V'Salicus Academy, a place to start anew, become a Cleanser, a guide to show lost souls the way to The Gates for Judgment. Basil ends up duty bound to hell, his soul gambled and lost to the Devourer, all for the price of a few words. As the devil's newest Harvestor, Basil must steal lost souls to feed his new master's constant ...

INDIE-giving Blogfest and Giveaway

Image
Thanksgiving is the perfect time to open my heart and share thanks. This year I have all of you, my wonderful readers and friends to be thankful for. Many of you are Indie authors who I've met along my journey, which makes this the perfect time to give back something special. My lovely friends and fellow authors, the Indelibles are putting on INDIE-giving in which we take a week to show our thanks. The blogfest will run from November 18-25 (the Sunday-to-Sunday surrounding Thanksgiving). During this week, each participating blogger will reflect on her or his blessings and share something with visitors. Many will be doing giveaways, myself included! Others may choose to share the best piece of advice they wished they'd known before they published. The choice of what to share will be as unique as the individual blogger. The only requirement is that you open your heart in the spirit of thankfulness and giving. Although this is something we could do individually, banding tog...
