Monday's Muse~The Crow
Autumn itself is a huge inspiration to me. I love the rich, golden colors, the crisp feel to the air, the smell of apples, cinnamon, and pumpkin, and of course the taste of candy corn. Pumpkin is probably my favorite food, ever, and Halloween is definitely one of my favorite holidays. It doesn't hurt that I'm a huge scary movie fan. There was plenty of all that around to inspire me last week!
There is one special movie that always comes to mind on Halloween for me, The Crow. The original one with Brandon Lee, son of the legendary Bruce Lee. I was a huge Brandon Lee fan and was devastated when he died filming this movie. During October he is always in my thoughts.

Speaking of my favorite holiday, I'm off to celebrate. No trick or treating for me, just a bowl of popcorn and the latest scary movie (which I've really been looking forward to! And certainly a time to re-watch The Crow). I hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween.
I have always loved Halloween! I'll be trick-or-treating with the kiddos. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat was so sad about Brandon Lee. I'm too spooked to watch scary movies most of the time, but I remember that awful accident. Tragic. A good day to remember Brandon, and to enjoy the popcorn and movies!
ReplyDeleteI love this movie. I love the soundtrack. "There ain't no commin' back" is a line I often repeat. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteI love The Crow! I remember seeing it in the theater when I was in high school. It was extra creepy knowing Brandon Lee died during while filming it.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my very favourite movies. Not the sequels, not the series I remember vaguely, but the original movie.
ReplyDeleteI loved Brandon Lee. I think I've seen all 6 or so movies he was ever in. It was a tragic accident that eerily echoed a 'fake' accident in on of Bruce's movies...
Enjoy your scary movie and rewatch of the Crow :D I think I might do the same tonight :D Thank you!
Do you know, I've never seen this?
ReplyDeleteI've got a soft spot for The Crow, too. Loved the visuals, loved the soundtrack...and poor Brandon too.
ReplyDeleteBrandon Lee. Okay, so I am so glad to meet another Brandon Lee fan. I love The Crow. You've just given me something to give my Halloween some extra yummy :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween!
I've been watching scary movies all weekend. And... you know that Fall is my favorite too. I love the colors, the feel and I can smell snow. Thank you for the great Muse to start my Monday off right!
ReplyDeleteI remember that movie and the tragic day he was killed. It was an amazing film. Eerie, exciting, and kept your blood pumping....I haven't seen it in years, but I still remember.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your night!
Shannon, it's one of my favorites too! Have fun tonight!
ReplyDeleteLinda, it was terribly sad. And yes, great day to enjoy movies and popcorn!
Phyllis, that's one of my favorite lines in the movie. :)
Melissa, I remember seeing it in the theater too. It was extra creepy, especially considering the rumored curse on the Lee family.
ReplyDeleteK.T., you know I've never even seen the others, only the original. I just couldn't bring myself to watch them after what happened to him.
Sarah, oh my gosh, go, see it now!
L., me too. Unfortunately, it was his greatest movie.
ReplyDeleteAngela, yay for Brandon Lee fans!!! I have this picture of me standing beside he and his father's grave. It makes me so sad...
Karlene, glad I could spark your muse! And yay for scary movie weekend, love it!
Michael, it was poignant wasn't it? Thanks, I hope you have a great Halloween too!
Loved the movie. I watch it every time it comes on.
