Book Review: Unwept
You know those special books that grab you right away and don't let go? This is one of those. However, if you're expecting something from the Dragonlance Queen similar to her other titles, this is not the place to look. I never would have guessed Tracy Hickman co-authored this if I didn't know.
This is sort of a historical paranormal mystery with hints of steampunk. Now that's a mouthful. But really, it's all in there and it is mixed rather brilliantly. The beginning of this book shocked me profoundly in a way none other aside from Across The Universe has. This novel is a deep mystery that will keep you guessing. I'd like to say until the very end, but no, it will just keep you guessing. But you'll love every moment of it.
My only complaints were the abrupt ending and the title that seemed to have nothing to do with the book (a pet peeve of mine). I will definitely purchase and read the sequel.
The ARC of this book was provided to me by the publisher for review through NetGalley for an honest review.
