Monday's Muse~Great Contemp Read and Giveaway

For you contemporary fans out there today I'm wishing happy anniversary to a fantastic book that just got a new look, I Loved You First by my friend Reena Jacobs. Here is a bit about it:

Alexandria (Alex) Carmichael guards two secrets close to her heart. One―she’s in love with her best friend, Seth. Two―he’s gay.

As a freshman in college, Alex looks forward to fun times with her best friend. When Seth decides cycling through girlfriends is the way to fit in with the straight crowd, Alex must make a choice: watch Seth give his affection to another while her heart breaks or come clean with her feelings and risk losing his friendship forever.

I LOVED YOU FIRST is a new adult love story told through the eyes of Alex, an African-American/Caucasian student, who takes a journey of self-discovery while watching her best friend come to terms with his sexuality.

Available at Barnes & Nobles || Smashwords || The Book Depository || Amazon || CreateSpace

  8. Awesome variety of answers. As for me, New Adult brings me back to my younger years. A few days ago I was sitting in the restaurant with my husband. People in the NA age group surround us. Made me wish I could do it all over again!

  20. It depends on the person i have to save... if its my best-est buddy i'll do anything to protect her while it is some one who pretends to be my friend and well wisher but is not in real i might not do anything...

  21. I'm also gonna say it depends on who it is. I wouldn't give up anything drastic (my life, etc) but I'd like to think i would give up a lot.

  22. Everyone is so generous. I admit to having a selfish streak. I'd be willing to give up a lot, but I can see myself doing it grudgingly. haha

  23. I am a fiercely loyal friend, so I would be able to give up a lot for a really close friend.

  24. The new adult genre draws me in because I've been reading young adult ever since I was 11. Most young adult books have characters that are aged 13 - 16. Well, I'm a Senior in high school and I don't relate to people that young anymore. I identify with some people in the new adult genres more because they have the same worries as me. That's why I love the new adult genre.

  25. It's relatively new so I haven't tried reading any books of this genre yet. I'm planning to do so soon!
